The story behind this song:
Bluetree... a worship band from Ireland went to Pattaya, Thailand for a missionary event back in 2007....

(Thank you Rhenita for this url)
Pattaya is a town notorious for its sex trade. The Bluetree wanted to play more than scheduled so they found out this bar called Climax.... which its owner allowed them to play in the bar...
and God spoke to them,"I’m the God of this City, I’m the King of these people and Greater Thing are Yet to Come, Greater Things are Still to be Done HERE."
and they just played it spontaneously.....
The song was not written before that night, but they worshiped God in that bar with the song which is now the title track of their album Greater Things.
And this is wat which happened in the Climax bar.... video found in Youtube....
wow............. it's really unbelievable.....
the song God of this City by Bluetree......
and the Chris Tomlin version....
The lyrics:
You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're Lord Of this nation
You are
You're hope for the hopeless
You're light in the darkness
You're peace to the restless
You are
there is no one like our God
there is no one like our God
The greater things have yet to come
the greater things are still to be done in this city
The greater things have yet to come
The greater things are still to be done in this city
"The song isn’t just for Pattaya – it’s for your city, and it’s true. By faith we must expect that greater things are still to be done."
You're the King of these people
You're Lord Of this nation
You are
You're hope for the hopeless
You're light in the darkness
You're peace to the restless
You are
there is no one like our God
there is no one like our God
The greater things have yet to come
the greater things are still to be done in this city
The greater things have yet to come
The greater things are still to be done in this city
"The song isn’t just for Pattaya – it’s for your city, and it’s true. By faith we must expect that greater things are still to be done."
